OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1987 by Dan Brettler, CAR•TOYS expanded from the Pacific Northwest into Colorado and Texas, becoming the largest independent, multi-channel retailer in car audio and mobile electronics. The brand built its reputation on in-store experience, installation, and category depth. On September 28th, 2000 CAR•TOYS opened it’s first store in Texas at the Hurst location.
OUR FUTURE
On October 1, 2025, the 12 Texas locations were acquired in a Chapter 11 asset sale by two longtime CAR•TOYS veterans.
Troy Parcels and Chris Pritts began their CAR•TOYS careers decades ago in the install bay and advanced into national leadership. As the new owners of the 12 Texas locations, they’re carrying the brand forward with expert teams, meticulous workmanship, and a customer experience built on real technical know-how.
Both call the Houston area home.
Troy Parcels • President, Owner
Troy, with the company since 1996, has served as an Installer, Install Manager, Store Manager, Regional Manager, Commercial Sales District Manager, National Window Tint Manager, and most recently, National Install Manager, overseeing installation operations across all 48 locations.
Chris Pritts • Vice President, Owner
Chris Pritts, who joined in 2004, followed a similar trajectory from installer to various leadership positions, including Install Manager, National Merchant of Services, Program Manager for Installer Development, National Install Manager (just prior to Troy), and recently, HR Business Partner.
